Video chat without downloading an app

You don't need to install an app to use WomChat. Open the site in your mobile browser, give permission to use the camera and microphone, and you're ready. It's a quick way to try random video chat without filling your phone with apps.

Modern mobile browsers support live video natively, so the experience is the same as an app: front camera, text chat with translation, skip and report. And because there's no install, there's nothing to update and no extra permissions to manage — you can revoke camera access per site at any time.

  • Nothing to download from the App Store or Google Play
  • Uses almost no storage on your phone
  • Camera permission only while you're on the site
  • Tip: add WomChat to your home screen for one-tap access

Tips for chatting on your phone

A few small things make mobile video chat much better:

  • Use Wi-Fi when possible for sharper video
  • Hold the phone at eye level or rest it against something stable
  • Face a window or light source rather than having it behind you
  • Use headphones in noisy places

Allow the camera on Android (Chrome)

If the video doesn't start on an Android phone:

  1. Tap the icon to the left of the address bar
  2. Open Permissions (or Site settings)
  3. Set Camera and Microphone to Allow
  4. Reload the page and press start again

Allow the camera on iPhone (Safari)

On iPhone and iPad:

  1. Tap the 'aA' button in Safari's address bar
  2. Choose Website Settings
  3. Set Camera and Microphone to Allow
  4. Reload the page — if it still fails, check Settings › Safari › Camera

Browser or app?

Using the browser means nothing to install and no storage used; apps can offer notifications. We compare both in browser vs app for video chat. Still having trouble? See camera not working and chat stuck on loading.
