Azar details come from its Help Center, terms and store listings.
On WomChat an account is optional.
No gender filter to buy.
Azar launched in 2014 and is run by Hyperconnect, a Seoul-based company that Match Group acquired in 2021. It's available on Android, iOS and the web, requires an account (Facebook, Google, Apple or phone number) and is for users 18 and over.
Random video chat is free, but choosing who you meet costs extra: according to Azar's Help Center, gender and region preferences are largely paid with Gems, its virtual currency, or with the Azar Core and Azar Max subscriptions on Android and web. Azar also offers text translation and, since September 2026, live voice-to-subtitle translation.
The biggest differences are how you get in and how you choose who you meet:
| Azar | WomChat | |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Required | Optional |
| Choosing to meet women | Largely paid (Gems or subscription) | Built around chats with women |
| Translation | Text, plus live voice subtitles | Automatic translation of written messages |
| Where it runs | Android, iOS and web | Any modern browser, desktop or mobile |
| Minimum age | 18+ | 18+ |
Azar has more features — profiles, discovery and voice translation among them. WomChat is deliberately simpler: open the page, allow your camera and you're talking one-to-one with a woman who's online, without creating an account or buying a filter first. It takes less than a minute:
